“Thomas Jefferson called Delaware a “Jewell” among the states, thus giving it one of its nicknames – “The Diamond State”.

It is known at one of the “Home of Tax-Free Shopping”, as it has no sales tax.

The official state name is “The First State” ad it joined the union on December 7, 1787, and the state bird is the Blue Hen.

Delaware is the least populated state in America.  It is famous for its beaches along the Atlantic Coast and are among the cleanest in the nation.

Delaware has the largest population of Horseshoe crabs in the world.  Ther creature predates dinosaurs by more the 200 million years.
