Recipe of the Month: Crock-Pot Hot Chocolate
Ingredients
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/3 c. unsweetened cocoa powder
6 c. whole milk
2 c. heavy cream
2 (4-oz.) semisweet chocolate bars, chopped
2 tsp. vanilla extract
15 jumbo marshmallows, plus more for garnish

- Whisk together the sugar and cocoa powder in a 6-quart slow cooker. Gradually add the milk, whisking constantly to incorporate. Whisk in the heavy cream, chopped chocolate and vanilla extract.
- Cover and cook on low heat, whisking occasionally, until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is hot and well combined, about 2 hours. Add the marshmallows and cook until the marshmallows begin to melt into the hot chocolate, for about 2 minutes.
- Set the slow cooker to warm. Ladle the hot chocolate into serving mugs, and top with more marshmallows.
