August Topic of the Month: Getting Families Ready for Back to School

Kevin Orsinger |

Wow!  Summer break is almost over; soon it will be time for the kids to start back to school.  Some will be going to school for the first time, some will be moving from Jr. High to Sr. High, some will be moving from middle school to Jr. High, and some will be going off to college.  This is a stressful time for most families.

No matter the age of your children and what grade they are going to, there is always preparation that needs to be done before the first day.  Make some lists of things you need to get done, like what school supplies they need, go back to school shopping, buying items for their college dorm or their locker, making sure the parking pass has been ordered, know the bus route (what time your child will be picked up or dropped off at the end of the day); and of course this list could go on.

Talk to your children about how they are feeling about their big day.  Reassure them that the teachers and professors will make their first day as comfortable as possible.

Most of all remind them how proud you are of them and that you love them and will be excited to hear all about their day and that you will be there for them or are just a phone call away.

From all of us at Orsinger Investment Group, Inc., here’s to a great 2024-2025 academic year.
